Kollectiv Centre for Contemporary Art invites you to explore new perspectives and engage in thought-provoking experiences through diverse art by artists from across the world. We produce, create and host exhibitions, events and activities in belief that art can change your life, bring us closer together and support community in divisive times.

Founded in July 2024 by artistic and curatorial duo Katie and Joseph Beton (Beton Collective), kollectiv is located in the Old High Street, Folkestone.

Upstairs presents a vibrant cafe bar open every day for freshly baked pastries from local Docker bakery, coffee from Whitstable’s Lost Sheep, beer from Docker Brewery and Dr Jeckylls’ and the finest selection of wines from Rodney Fletcher Vintners. We welcome you to enjoy a book from our art library, expand your art collection by purchasing a print or original work from local artists, and share your ideas with our friendly staff. In the evening, you can join one of our eclectic events - from book launches, workshops and expert talks to film screenings, and jazz concerts.

Downstairs presents a 100 square metre exhibition space dedicated to the art and artists of today and tomorrow. You can visit the show free of charge, all year round. The space is home to events and activities including new music concerts, talks, performances and guided tours.

Through our practice, we connect, collaborate and exchange on an on-going basis with our local communities, organisations, individuals and groups exploring connections, creativity, and wellbeing.

We hope you’ll find your home at kollectiv.
